NGCP Earthquake Advisory as of 10AM, 08 July 2017
As of 10AM, areas serviced by Bohol Light Company, Inc. (BLCI) including Tagbilaran City are currently receiving supply generated by Bohol Diesel Power Plant.
NGCP continues to work on a bypass line to connect the Tabango Substation to Ormoc Substation. Once the connection is established, power from Cebu will be able to flow to Ormoc substation, and power will be restored in Bohol, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, and Samar. The connection of the two substations will be completed by Monday.
Samar Island, Biliran, Southern Leyte, parts of Leyte, and parts of Bohol remain without power.
Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC) and Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC) were reported to have gone in shutdown this morning. This, plus the outage of power plants in Leyte may cause customers in Cebu, Negros, and Panay to experience occasional power interruptions. Power generation from solar plants in the region may be able to produce sufficient supply during the daytime.
NGCP assures the public that it is continuously monitoring the situation and will provide more updates as new information is available.
LEYECO V power update
LEYECO V’s Tambis, Tabango sub-station is currently being fed by NGCP’s Cebu-Leyte submarine cable. Originally, Tambis sub-station only supplies power to municipalities of Tabango, San Isidro and Villaba but as of this time, it is being extended to Calubian, Leyte, Leyte, Matag-ob, Kananga and soon to Palompon, Leyte. Consumers in the aforementioned areas may experience low voltage so we advise to conserve power to avoid rotational brown out. Please minimize the use of electricity during day time and use only necessary lights and appliances at night time. Avoid using air conditioning units, freezers, rice cookers, electric irons and other energy-hungry appliances at this time.
Meanwhile, NGCP is currently creating a bypass line to connect the Tabango Sub-station to Ormoc Sub-station. Once the connection is established, power from Cebu will be able to flow to Ormoc substation, and power will be restored in Bohol, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, and Samar.

9 AM BILECO OIC General Manager Gerardo N. Oledan said that NGCP is still conducting line patrol. Once the 69KV line is available, they will immediately restore power in Biliran Province.

NGCP Earthquake Advisory as of 6AM, 07 July 2017.
No significant devopment since last advisory was issued at 2AM, which follows, for reference:
As of 2AM, NGCP is still assessing the extent of the damage brought about by the earthquake which occurred at 4:03PM on July 6. The earthquake caused island-wide blackouts in Samar, Bohol, Southern Leyte, and parts of Northern Leyte.
NGCP’s Cebu-Leyte submarine cable, and its Tabango Substation in Leyte continue to transmit power to LEYECO V, serving the municipalities of Tabango, San Isidro, and Villaba.
Due to supply deficiency caused by the outage of power plants located in Leyte, customers in Cebu, Negros, and Panay may also suffer occasional power interruptions.
Aerial and foot inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing as soon as the situation allows.
Power Update as of 6:21 PM July 6, 2017:
NGCP – Based on initial findings, a fault was found within the plant in Milagro substation, Ormoc and the team has identified damages in the transmission facilities as an aftermath of the strong quake in Leyte. Chance of power restoration tonight is remote.
NAVAL, Biliran – A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck the island of Leyte on Thursday afternoon, July 6, at 4:03 pm, according to PHIVOLCS.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at Candahungan, Jaro, Leyte based on data from Phivolcs.
No damage to infrastructure and properties, and no casualties were reported as of the moment.
However, the entire Biliran province is now in total blackout.
