Cabucgayan, Biliran— Operatives from the local police of this municipality in coordination with the Bicol Provincial Police Office successfully apprehended the No. 2 Most Wanted Person of Eastern Visayas during the serving of Warrant of Arrest about 5:50 in the afternoon on Saturday (Aug 28) in Brgy. San Isidro Libmanan, Camarines Sur.
Cabucgayan COP Police Lt. Teofilo Gervacio identified the accused as Marlou Corpin, 22, married, construction worker, a resident of Brgy. Malinao, Camarines Sur and a native of Brgy. Bunga, Cabucgayan, Biliran.
Lt. Gervacio said that the arrest of the accused was by virtue of an Alias Warrant issued by Hon. Constantino F Esber, Executive Judge, RTC, 8th Judicial Region, Branch 37, (Caibiran), Naval, Biliran dated June 8, 2021 for charges of child abuse, sexual assault and rape. Lt. Gervacio said that under Criminal Case No CB-18-660 for Violation of Section 5(b) of R.A. 7610, the court recommended a bail of 200,000.00, while in Criminal Case No. CB-18-671 for Violation of Rape by Sexual Assault under Art. 266-A (2) of the RPC as amended, the court recommended a bail of 120,000.00. However in Criminal Cases No. CB-18-663, CB-18-664, CB-18-665, CB-18-666, CB-18-667, CB-18-668, CB-18-669 and CB-18-670 which are all rape charges no bail was recommended by the court for the temporary liberty of the accused.
The accused, according to the police, left the municipality after learning that the victim filed a formal complaint against him and resided in Camarines Sur where he was arrested.
