7:05 AM Sept. 17, 2016. Update: Longest unscheduled power interruption hits Biliran. 16 hours now and still no Bileco service.

9:13 PM September 16, 2016 UPDATE: NGCP: Ormoc SS,D1,VOM; 16Sep/1537H; 5LI1(ORM-SAS)ORM 69kv TL; SLF; Z1, AN,196.5km. At 1855H Energized 69Kv Tunga feeder with Lemon ABS 1 open & isolated BILECO & LEYECO V(Sambulawan); Update as of 2000H, Line personnel to conduct megger testing along Lemon-Biliran Line; RA Ariosa.

7:10 PM Sept. 16, 2016 UPDATE:  National Grid Corporation of the Philippines is still conducting line patrol. They have tested several line sections to identify the location of the fault but until now there’s no sign of progress. More attempts will be done on other line sections. – BILECO

NAVAL, Biliran – As of 3:37 in the afternoon of September 16, 2016 an unexpected power interruption hit the entire coverage of BILECO.

According to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) its not only Biliran province but also major areas in Leyte that were under the services by LEYECO V (Sambulawan Substation), DORELCO and LEYECO III that experienced power outage.

Tripping of the 69kv Tunga feeder was cited as the cause. Linemen have been dispatched to the affected line.
